Both were designed to spur increased economic development and both fell short on their promise, leaving behind a dilapidated infrastructure. Excavating the utopian Afro-futures by which these projects were envisioned and the Afro-nostalgias they have generated, we discern a palimpsest of temporalities in Sebi Ponty.
