L’activité de recherche chez les infirmières et infirmiers ne fait pas partie des représentations habituelles du métier. Pourtant, certains s’y engagent et cet article présente une recherche exploratoire et biographique, menée à partir de cinq parcours d’infirmiers. Un des points de discussion majeur de ce travail réside dans le besoin de reconnaissance individuelle et collective, entre légitimité académique et utilité sociale de la recherche infirmière.

When Nursing workers/researchers tell their story of life: how to reach self transformation by self commitment into the research processNurses’research activity is not part of the usual representations of the profession. However, some are committed to it and this article presents an exploratory and biographical research, carried out from five nurses’ paths. One of the major points of discussion of this work is in the need for individual and collective recognition, between academic legitimacy and the social utility of nursing research.
