The advent of training sciences: For what purpose?

Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This contribution aims to grasp the paradoxical relationship between adults and training today. To shed light on both the existential and andragogical challenges posed by the situation of an adult in training, it may be helpful to juxtapose, on the one hand, the world of possibilities available to them, and on the other, the constraints that come with being a mature learner. In doing so, it seems necessary to clarify what is meant by being an adult today, in a society that is no longer one of progress but one of uncertainty, mobility, and flexibility. It is within this context that the situation of the adult in training is understood here, through three modern training variants: individualized training through support, the life story in search of meaning, and training as a space and time of transition. Through these three typical examples—albeit three of many—an experience can be formed that leads to a training pathway.
