Offering a writing workshop to high school ULIS coordinators – Sharing the “silence” that animates the text

As an extension of his doctoral research, the author co-developed and co-facilitated a writing workshop on professional practices (Bréant 2014) for coordinators of high school ULISs (Localized Units for School Inclusion). The reports on the preparation of the sessions and the notes taken during the workshop sessions and those taken after the supervision sessions constitute the main corpus of data for exploring both the subjective process of each participant and the relationship to the profession of high school ULIS coordinator. Reflecting on his involvement in the project led the author to recognize his sensitivity to the underlying process of group work within the workshop. He suggests calling this process “sharing the silence that animates the text.”
