Prematurity represents a major risk factor correlated to developmental disorders as well as neurological and neurodevelopment disorders. It impacts parent-infant relationships, negatively paving the way for neglectful and abusive behavior. The clinician must, therefore, work both directly with the infant and act in conjunction with the environment, especially the parents, as early on as possible.
