In this conversation, Xavière Gauthier, founder of the periodical Sorcières, discusses with her sister Danièle Carrer the neglected history of French ecofeminism in the 1980s. This periodical, dedicated to literary and artistic creation by women, gathered many women writers involved in ecological and anti-nuclear struggles. They tied together feminism and ecology, domination of women and domination of nature, all repressed by hyper-capitalism and its desire to appropriate life itself. No magic here, only a radical questioning of the relations of production and reproduction.
