Treating and caring for premature babies: Learning from the epidemiological data
Type de matériel :
6
Preterm birth remains a global health priority and a major contributor to perinatal death in both resource-poor and resource-rich countries. International reports on the health of children born prematurely and national epidemiological studies are used to set priorities for preventive care. They are complemented by studies on developmental psychology that give us milestones for the emergence of adaptive abilities. Propositions for “individualized developmental care” can then be used to improve quality of life for both the child and their family.
