Un cheval de sport est référé pour une boiterie avec suppression d’appui du membre postérieur droit. Deux plaies sont présentes sur le membre postérieur droit, une lacération du bord coronaire en région plantaro-latérale du glome et une lacération du paturon en région plantaire. La lacération plantaire du paturon atteint la gaine digitale et présente une atteinte des structures tendineuses. La lacération du bord coronaire atteint le cartilage ungulaire latéral dans sa partie dorso-plantaro-latérale. Une prise en charge thérapeutique adaptée et multimodale est donc mise en place. Cette dernière fait intervenir traitement médical, chirurgical ainsi que la maréchalerie orthopédique afin que la récupération fonctionnelle soit optimale.

A sport horse was referred for lameness with non-weight-bearing lameness of the right hind limb. Two wounds were present on the right hind limb : a laceration of the coronary band in the plantar-lateral region of the gloma and a laceration of the pastern in the plantar region. The plantar laceration of the pastern reached the digital tendon sheath and affected the tendinous structures. The coronary band laceration affects the lateral ungular cartilage in the dorso-plantar-lateral region. Appropriate multimodal treatment is therefore implemented. This involves medical treatment, surgery and orthopaedic farriery to ensure the best functional recovery.
