The development of forensic medical-psychological services for people under judicial supervision

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2024. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The need to care for people under judicial supervision is constantly expanding in France. Subject to various forms of care, forced or otherwise, the obstacles to their implementation are various. In France, specialized care facilities exist and have been expanding in recent years. This article looks at four such care facilities in France (Espace Vienne in Poitiers, CMPJ in Dordogne, UC3P in Tours, and UMPJ in Gironde). These very active facilities raise questions about their particular features: their detachment from conventional psychiatric care facilities, their partnerships with non-health professionals, and the hiring of seasoned, trained professionals. These schemes appear to be an appropriate response to the need to offer offenders high-quality care, adapted to their specific problems and designed to alleviate the burden on conventional psychiatric sectors already overwhelmed by requests for care.
