The responsibility of prayer in the ecclesiology of Edith Stein

Edith Stein did not write an ecclesiological work strictly speaking, but her reflections on the relation between person and community, as well as on personal responsibility, give a stimulus to rethink the place of prayer in the life of the Church. Taking up again three of Edith Stein’s texts (Freedom and Grace in 1921, Prayer in the Church and the last chapter of Finite Being and Eternal Being in 1936) shows that the living members of the mystical Body are free and responsible by their prayer.
