Hospitality image of touristic cities: the role of communication

The aim of this paper is to identify the elements of communication that contribute to give a hospitality image. After about a literature review underlining the importance of communication in shaping the image of a destination and the specifics of the hospitality of a city, a qualitative exploratory study of tourists highlights five constituent factors of the hospitality of a city: the perception of tourism offer, the creation of a sense of hospitality, the experience of hospitality, the safety feeling and logistics dimension.
