If the literature focuses on the importance of conflicting expectations directed towards first line managers, it appears to have little interest in focusing on helping these managers and offers no solution to meeting these expectations. This article addresses this problem. The research aims to identify strategies used by first line managers to overcome the conflicting expectations during organizational change and to suggest ways to encourage these strategies.
