This article examines the periodic heated debate on the links that, in Québec, academic research in didactics has with political choices or decisions made in education. The authors focus in particular on the historical context and a description of the discourse that a fierce, dynamic and influential think tank has promoted since 2009 regarding the aims of learning history, the content of educational programmes in secondary school, and pre-service and in-service teacher training.
