La prise en charge médicalisée de la fin de vie se voit régie par des textes de loi qui posent l’information médicale du diagnostic et du pronostic létal comme une obligation, relevant du droit de savoir des malades. Une précaution apparaît, cependant, celle de respecter toute volonté d’ignorance manifestée par le malade lui-même. Une volonté d’ignorance que nous prenons le pari de poser comme véritable passion de l’ignorance, qu’il s’agit de respecter afin que la vie psychique persiste à proximité de la mort réelle.L’article mettra en évidence l’existence d’une aporie dans ce respect de toute passion de l’ignorance supportée par le sujet, au regard de cette contrainte légale à laquelle le soumet la loi Léonetti : la rédaction des directives anticipées, exigeant du malade qu’il énonce ses derniers souhaits concernant la prise en charge de sa fin de vie.
