Tools for identifying signs of psychological suffering in clinical work with babies in our associated programs

This work sought to verify the supporting value of the following tools for identifying early signs of autism: the IRDI protocol, the PRÉAUT questionnaire, and the SSP. It shows that their complementary use, in the context of interventions with babies, makes it possible to support a clinical reading of the subjective problems of each child in their relationship with adults and to show their evolution throughout the sessions. It also addresses certain specificities of the tools in light of their theoretical references. Finally, it comments on the question of the use of clinical signs in the promotion of early childhood care and considers that giving them a speaking status corresponds to the ethical commitment to listen to the baby’s body and to give it a voice.
