Transhumanist thought has now been extensively critiqued and commented upon, but critical interpretations tend to see what they want to see. In order to grasp the full picture, it is important to distinguish clearly between what transhumanists do and do not say. Only after clarifying these positions can we go on to consider the arguments they put forward when, for example, they suggest that we challenge ourselves to eradicate disease and aging, to achieve a condition that Edgar Morin calls amortality.
