Cet article est le texte d’une conférence donnée à l’université Fudan de Shanghai en avril 2013, dans le cadre du Labex Transfers. L’auteur, fort de son expérience clinique avec des patients chinois à l’Institut hospitalier de psychanalyse de Sainte-Anne, cherche à montrer que penser la Chine dans une altérité radicale empêche la rencontre du sujet chinois avec la psychanalyse et du psychanalyste avec le monde chinois. Il s’appuie pour cela sur la mythologie occidentale concernant l’écriture chinoise. L’articulation de la psychanalyse dans le monde chinois est d’abord et avant tout une question de traduction des textes et des concepts psychanalytiques, mais pas sans une articulation à la pratique clinique. Cette même pratique amène l’auteur à penser que la structure inconsciente du sujet chinois ne diffère pas radicalement de celle du sujet occidental.

This article is the text of a conference given to the Fudan University of Shanghai in April 2013, within the framework of Labex Transfers. The author, with his clinical experiment with Chinese patients at the Institut hospitalier de psychanalyse de Sainte-Anne, seeks to show that to think China in a radical otherness prevents the meeting of the Chinese subject with the psychoanalysis and the psychoanalyst with the Chinese world. It is based for that on Western mythology concerning the Chinese writing. The articulation of the psychoanalysis in the Chinese world is initially and before a whole question of translation of the texts and psychoanalytical concepts, but not without an articulation with the clinical practice. This same practice leads the author to think as the unconscious structure of the Chinese subject does not differ radically from that of the Western subject.
