RésuméComme tout un chacun, pour naître à une vie pleine, l’adopté a besoin de se situer par rapport à un passé, à une histoire, à un désir fondamental qui concerne sa procréation et ses filiations. Comment concilier l’indéniable dette d’une première identité, constituant narcissique de départ mis en place pendant la grossesse, et la dette envers ceux qui lui ont donné les repères pour construire sa subjectivité ? L’adopté doit aussi intégrer une double loyauté : la loyauté existentielle et la loyauté d’existence. Au départ l’enfant n’est qu’un enfant adopté ; peu à peu les gestes imprégnés de signification des parents adoptifs aideront l’enfant à devenir adoptant. Investissant affectivement ses parents adoptifs, il deviendra un enfant adoptif. D’adopté à adoptif le chemin est long, c’est une lente maturation car dans le processus d’adoption, chacun a des deuils à faire, chacun a un autre à conquérir.
