Cet article décrit l’observation clinique d’une mère présentant un trouble de la personnalité borderline associé à un trouble dépressif et de son enfant, dyade suivie de la naissance aux 25 mois de l’enfant. La présentation du cas clinique est enrichie de mesures objectives à la fois du fonctionnement interactif par une micro-analyse comportementale et du développement psychomoteur du bébé au cours de la première année. Cet article discute l’importance de la prise en compte de l’interaction dans le cadre d’une prise en charge précoce mère-bébé, et met en évidence l’apport de la recherche et de ses outils d’évaluation dans la pratique clinique.

Follow-up of a borderline and depressed mother with her infant : looking at the interaction with both eyes of research and clinicsThis paper describes the clinical observation of a mother who suffers from borderline personality disorder and depression and that of her infant. They have been in mother-infant psychotherapy from the infant’s birth to his 25th month of life. The presentation of this clinical case is enriched with objective measures from both the interactive functioning via a micro-analysis of behavior and of the infant’s psychomotor development during his first year of life. This paper discusses the importance of taking into consideration the mother-infant interaction within a mother-infant psychotherapy and highlights the contribution of research and its investigative tools in clinical practice.
