In Aîtres de la langue et demeures de la pensée , Henri Maldiney offers a phenomenological approach to myth, in particular to the figure of Dionysus, in order to question the ontological status of man and of his presence in the world. The question of manifestation leads him to a theory of appearance which makes an absolute break with the notion of a pure presence. And can language express the relation between the being and the world ? The aim of this article is to demonstrate that this attempt to reappropriate existence in philosophical language requires moving beyond ontology.
