Unlike genograms, it enables clinical researchers to explore the subjective representation of family connections as well as the content of the primal fantasy. Following a brief review of the analytical frameworks available, we present a detailed qualitative analytical framework developed from data drawn from a body of research on the subject of mass violence. A clinical illustration of a 90-year-old man deported for his Jewishness as a teenager shows the interest of rigorous analysis tied to the major operators of psychic life.
