Transparenthood, a New Way of Being Parent
Type de matériel :
64
Even recently, transparenthood (involving families where a parent is transsexual or transgender) was limited to certain specific patterns. The desire for parenthood of transsexual and transgender people was minimised, and except for transsexual or transgender people who had had a child (or children) before their transition, only the demands of transsexuals were accepted (under certain conditions). At an international level, this phenomenon has admittedly undergone considerable change, requiring us to adopt a new perspective. The present article seeks to demonstrate how other phenomena (as with same-sex parenting, transgenderism and medical techniques to preserve gametes and assist reproduction) bring in new perspectives for evolution towards transparenthood.
