Since the 1980s, policies to support business start-ups have become a reality in Europe, and particularly in France. The authors analyze recent developments in the objectives of these systems, which are designed to help new entrepreneurs gather the resources they need to bring their projects to fruition. They also examine the stakes, and therefore the very relevance, of “supported creation”, before defining the conditions for its success and its prospects.
