Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : How is the proliferation of the images of superheroes in contemporary society to be understood? Is it a symptom of generalized infantilization or an expression of a certain unconscious of modernity? This article attempts to unravel the network of significations brought into play by the different figures of superheroes. I will show that, beyond its place in the genre “for children”, the modern mythology of superheroes tells us about the relations between industrial society and its own childhood as a force of renewal.
