The forces, like every soldier, are subject to French and international law everywhere in the world. In this context, the provost court, an operational intermediary, able to provide precise facts and to give background information, is positioned between the people deployed on peacekeeping operations and domestic magistrates. But an overhauled provost court, that has adapted to strategic and legal changes, provides all levels in the military chain of command with real support when operations are being conducted abroad.
