The purpose of this work is to present the first results of a qualitative study exploring the experience of practitioners who refer families to transcultural psychotherapy. The results show that the therapeutic setting offers the family the possibility of gaining confidence in order to be able to form a subjective, cultural narrative, enabling caregivers to have a better understanding of situations and to improve the therapeutic alliance. There is a change in therapists’ practice after their encounter with the transcultural setting which can provide other keys to reading the clinical history of patients.
