— The psychic space discussed in B. Brusset’s paper evokes a number of face-to-face cases in which a space is able to materialise between the patient and the analyst, which is observed by both and within which it is possible for extremely rich phantasmatic activity to take place. Two brief examples are given to illustrate the fact that if the projective identifications of patients are supported by the analyst’s capacity to daydream, they can be represented in the space that exists between them, and thereby enable a specific transferential arrangement to be set up.
