Final Sessions: Between Detachment and Separation
Type de matériel :
73
With reference to a number of clinical examples of final sessions, the author considers several different modalities of separation in so far as they effectively « sign » the end of treatment. Each different type of separation, evoking a particular phase in the Subject’s relation to himself and to the world of his objects, is presentified in the transferential relation. A certain number of different modes of separation are considered and discussed in so far as they pose the notions of detachment/detachability, weaning/splitting as necessary stages in the this process and, more specifically, according to a trajectory that will, in the best of cases, result in the highest level of objectal separation. The question of identity and that of temporality both occupy a determining position in this problematic of separation.
