Between the theme of fundamental violence (the "struggle unto death" that runs through the Sophoclean trilogy), and the paternal theme (next Congress of French-speaking Psychoanalysts in 2013), it was interesting to consider an aspect of the Oedipus complex(es), that of being both the son (of Laos) and father (children of his union with Jocasta). The theme of Oedipus-the-father, intersecting with similar situations in culture, resurgences of this aspect of the myth, takes us back to the founding father of analytic theory and to his works on paternal anaclisis that will be debated here.
