Two Forms of Conceptual Obsolescence in History

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2022. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This paper deals with the obsolescence of some colligatory concepts in history (for example: Renaissance, Cold War, A.I. Winter, Civilisation Process). These concepts have a special status because they add external structures to the past. The question is therefore to know whether these external structures are involved when the usefulness or the obsolescence of colligatory concepts are being assessed. By working from a minimal characterization of narrativism, I will present the analysis of two forms of obsolescence that we find in history and which are different from what we can find in other scientific fields. These two forms are named occasional obsolescence and obsolescence through elimination.
