Despite government efforts and the mobilization of social work professionals, it is clear that many female victims of domestic violence do not take advantage of the resources intended to help them. This article aims to examine the social possibility for women to report violence. The social conditions for the emergence of a discourse are closely linked on the one hand to the legitimacy and social competence of the speaker, and on the other hand to the way this discourse is received, even though domestic violence can be analyzed as the manifestation of consubstantial relations of domination.
