Using the clinical case of a sporty anorexic teenage girl, this paper looks at the collusion between the athletic ideals deprived of their potential creativity and an anorexic function organized around the denial of the sexed adolescent body. The narcissistic component, the refusal of object relations, the hatrede of the psyche and the body’s instrumentalization all link the practice of competitive and high-level sport to an anorexic position. The latter is vectorized by an omnipotent ego ideal dealing with a nonintegration of the adolescent process and a manhandled body.
