Edito. La « bientraitance » : qu'est-ce que c'est ?

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2010. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : New concept : “bientraitance” in french or « welltreating », what is it ? The new concept of « welltreating » may become dangerous if thought as a collection of contradictory and inaccessible rules. Well treating must be an objective which allows the person depending on others for daily life activities to live “dependent with dignity”. Welltreating requires preliminary conditions for the staff : skills and competency, deontology, awareness on their own actions and responsibilities, respect of dignity and humanity of the supported person, collegiality within the team. To maintain the objectives of welltreating, each member of the staff needs to be aware of his ascendancy, professional skills, deontology, aware of the caring actions undertaken and their meaning, respect of dignity, knowledge on the limits of actions. The staff should also think about the meaning of care and support for the well being of the person, work in collegiality within the team, and know how to question oneself. May we finally validate this new word to express the concept of adapted support and care for the person depending on others to satisfy the needs of daily life ? Yes, well treating is truly a comprehensive concept bringing up an answer to the needs of a dependant person with respect to human dignity.
