Apparu sur TF1 en 1982, le Bébête Show a diffusé à une heure de grande audience un discours protestataire à l’encontre de la classe politique. Face à cette « attaque », les professionnels du champ politique ont d’abord essayé de neutraliser le Bébête Show en le récupérant. Puis ils ont tenté de le disqualifier en lui faisant un procès pour « exercice illégal de la politique ». Toutefois, le soutien du public aux auteurs a installé la satire comme une modalité légitime d’action politique. Et désormais routinisées, ces pratiques satiriques semblent incorporées au jeu politique.
