A psychoanalytical view of mediated consultations: the role of containment in parenting support
Type de matériel :

This article is based on a psychological work technique in the context of mediated consultations. It focuses in particular on clinical interviews (conducted by the psychologist with the parents in the after-effect or “après-coup” of mediated consultations) and aims to grasp the clinical issues at stake. Two clinical case studies then provide a means to outline the potential of such interviews in the absence of the children. Such interviews are seen to open the way towards mentalising activity being restored, parent-institution links appeased and narcissism regained for parents whose children have been put under a court-ordered placement. Finally, a metapsychological discussion sheds light on the case studies.
