A form of expression of the processes of family contagion: the lie

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2019. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The person who is called a “liar” unconsciously installs a mode of infraverbal communication with its interlocutors. While deliberately falsifying reality, it outsources an authentic aspect of its internal reality. The use of this method of language allows him/her to pass on his/her own traumatic experience to others, by making them unconsciously live, frequently putting on stage a non-perceptible familial suffering. Young liars are also the spokespersons of the pathogenicity of certain phenomena of psychic contagion that ensure the cohesion of the family group. They seek to extricate themselves, unconsciously echoing the family taboos that pollute their mental life. The lie has in it a messenger dimension. The example of a teenage girl falsely accusing her father of touching (her) shows that this “spoken-act” is an effort of the subject to push others out of her psychic life, in order to overcome the experience of psychic annexation that the proximity with them makes you feel. The psychoanalytic family therapist, taking into account this symptom, can accompany the family members towards a reorganization of their links, offering the possibility of unveiling parental secrets alienating.
