Au début des années 1950, les dirigeants d’un club de football du bassin houiller aveyronnais décident d’éditer un bulletin hebdomadaire. S’ils le présentent comme un outil ayant fonction de fédérer les amis du club en favorisant les liens de sociabilité, il s’avère qu’ Allez Racing est aussi un instrument de propagande utilisé pour donner au club une identité minière forte en même temps qu’un ascendant symbolique sur les autres clubs du bassin. Cette stratégie, qui passe par l’idéalisation des valeurs du monde de la mine, va leur permettre de faire du Racing le porte-drapeau du football dans le bassin jusqu’à ce que, par le jeu d’une fusion avec le club voisin, soit créé l’Olympique minier aveyronnais. ALLEZ RACING (GO RACING) : decoding the assertion and idealization process of a mining identity within an amateur football club of the Aveyron coalfield (1951-1961)In the early 1950s, a few executives of a football club of the Aveyron coalfield decided to publish a local weekly bulletin. If they present it as a resource designed to unite friends of the club by promoting ties of sociability, it turns out that Allez Racing is also a propaganda tool used to build and give the club a strong mining identity as well as a symbolic ascendancy over the other clubs of the basin. This strategy, through the idealization of the mining world’s values, enabled them to turn Racing into the flagship of football in the coal basin until the creation, through a union with the neighbouring club, of the Olympique Minier Aveyronnais (Aveyron Mining Olympic).
