Une très faible littérature existe en Occident concernant les effets psycho-logiques d’Hiroshima, alors qu’il s’en trouve une mais non traduite au Japon. On peut trouver quelques articles dans des revues scientifiques et plusieurs livres. Cet article part de ce constat pour s’interroger sur la raison de cette absence, en étudiant les textes accessibles. L’expérience d’Hiroshima n’a pas été sentie. C’est ce qui explique l’importance des concepts de Robert Jay Lifton de numbing (de numb, engourdissement), la capacité diminuée à sentir, et de psychic closing-off (fermeture psychique) qu’il développe. There is a very small literature in the West about psychological effects of Hiroshima, but there is an important one in Japan which is not translated. We can find some articles in scientific reviews and some books. This article begins with this fact and then tries to understand why it is so, and studies the scientific literature on the subject. The experience of Hiroshima has not been felt. Therefore the concepts of numbing and of psychic closing-off, by Robert Jay Lifton are important.
