In this paper the author explores how André Dumas (1918–1996), a French Christian intellectual, made himself heard in the period of secularization. He does this by presenting the figure of the protestant intellectual, the latter’s reflections on secularization—in dialogue with Dietrich Bonhœffer—and the methods he used in the public debates in which he took part.
