One’s passion becoming a profession represents a rather attractive and promising life project. But if the various sports and leisure activities seem to offer such a pleasant prospect, however, the sports teacher occupation is often transitory. This paper focuses on the sports teacher vocational paths working in water sports, a field of investigation as the result of a complex history in which the State with its training institutions played an important and innovative role. The aim is to question the feasibility of being in a long term professional activity whose purpose is leisure for people.
