This paper presents the edition of a short anonymous text—until now unknown—contained in the MS. Florence, Bibl. Naz. Conv. Soppr. E 1.252. It is a eulogy delivered by a master of arts upon the inception of one of his students, a bachelor of arts named Thomas. The text can be dated from the last quarter of the 13th century to the first quarter of the 14th century. This commendatio offers a precious testimony of the inception ceremony.
