This clinical presentation illustrates the first year of the psychotherapy of a two-and-a-half-year-old boy, suffering from a severe autistic spectrum disorder. The therapy was carried out in his mother’s presence. The advancement of Mathys along his therapeutic sessions is a shared pathway. The accidental discovery by the child of a smartphone’s screen leads to very interesting questions on Lacan’s theorization of the schize between the eye and the gaze in an autistic child.
