The purpose of this article is not to propose a metapsychological sketch of the voice. Rather, it is intended to be a reflection on the essential role of the voice in the restructuring of identity during adolescence. Through the clinical case of a 14-year-old adolescent in music therapy, we will attempt to answer our hypothesis, which posits that the new voice at puberty plays the role of a “new” sound mirror that reflects adolescents’ own subjectivity back onto them.
