The author tries to identify through the construction of the filial link the events which disrupt this process when the child to be born turns out to be handicapped. He shows the result of the trauma resulting from the maladjustment hindering the parent-child interactions, so important for establishing the link. The author explores the adjustments achieved a few years later in connection with the parents’ history. A case study of a family therapy will illustrate the current research.
