On the Topic of Subjective Interiority, Depth, and Intimacy: An Overview
Nordmann, Jean-François
On the Topic of Subjective Interiority, Depth, and Intimacy: An Overview - 2003.
87
Stating first the failures and resistances in human sciences as well as in philosophy regarding the notions of subjective interiority, depth and intimacy, the present study undertakes to indicate a possible way for a phenomenological habilitation of these notions leaving in particular to the recognition and exploration of the field of inner and deep affectivity to which belong the varieties of desire and intimacy. One can thence more specifically discuss the commonly established link between intimacy and family life and point out the contradictory character of the current evolutions, both liberating and renewingly alienating, in the sphere of “private” affective and sexual relations.
