Supporting single women undergoing medically assisted reproduction since the French Bioethics law of 2021 - 2025.
17
Since the French Bioethics law of 2021, which extended access to medically assisted reproduction to all women, single women have encountered numerous institutional and social obstacles, such as long waiting times, treatment methods perceived as intrusive, and a persistent feeling of stigmatization. In contrast to neighboring countries, support for these women is still perceived as inadequate and poorly adapted to their specific needs. The solo motherhood approach highlights new issues of recognition and equality in access to parenthood. Follow-up therefore requires coordination between health professionals and social workers to identify potential vulnerabilities and offer targeted support.
