Work Integration Social Enterprises ( WISEs) are an employment policy device rarely studied in the literature. They provide assistance to a specific population who is distant from the labour market. WISEs place individuals in a work situation and offer them a social and professional support. This article evaluates the impact of job training for workers in WISEs on their professional trajectory and on more subjective output variables. Simultaneous equation systems controlling for the endogeneity of training are estimated on linked employee-employer data. Even if the effect of job training on employment access is mitigated (comparatively to a situation of unemployment or inactivity, training does not increase stable employment access and diminishes the access to non-stable jobs), it increases the propensity of entering a new training or resumption of studies after exiting the policy. Training provided during the programme has also a significant impact on subjective outcomes such as the feeling of improving professional situation or being satisfied by the programme. Thus, job training conducts to a more positive image of workers in WISEs on themselves which is also one of the goals of the device.
