Henri Bouillard, in his theological quest, is inspired by Eric Weil’s philosophy in working out his concept of fundamental theology, especially in what concerns the relationship between politics and christianity, and between philosophy and faith. On the other hand, Weil’s philosophy also guards him against taking up the challenges of our time : political theology and human sciences.
