Son originalité réside dans la reconnaissance intégrale des Écritures bibliques comme lieu de « correction » de la christologie chrétienne. L’article expose les arguments scripturaires névralgiques et souligne les faiblesses de l’argumentation. Plus fondamentalement, il conclut à l’existence de christologies au sein de l’islam et à la possibilité d’un renouvellement du dialogue théologique islamo-chrétien sur la base de la Bible et des traditions musulmanes. Written probably by a converted Copt of the thirteenth century, the Refutation of the divinity of Jesus Christ has been falsely attributed to the eminent theologian of Islam, al-?az?l? (m.1111). Its originality rests in the integral recognition of the biblical Scriptures as a place of “correction” of Christian christology. The article lays out the key scriptural arguments and underlines the weaknesses of the argumentation. More profoundly, it is concluded that christologies exist within Islam and that there is the possibility of a renewal of Islamic-Christian theological dialogue on the basis of the Bible and Muslim traditions.
