The sociology of militancy and social work does not always escape the creation of a narrative of change and the quest for novelty. So, “the distanced commitment” succeeds “the total commitment”, just as “the social intervention” takes the place of “social work”. But doesn't this binary algorithm contribute to obscuring the social transformations that it claims to describe?
